AfricaBerlin1884 is an association founded by a passionate group of African women from both the diaspora and the African mainland. After the abolition of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, Africa went through another trauma called Berlin conference in 1884 to1885.
We are driven by a shared commitment to address and raise awareness of the profound and enduring impacts of the Berlin Conference of 1884-1885, where European powers divided Africa, disregarding its intricate social, cultural. For example, we have the Ewes divided between Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
